Meet the Enigma Machine

Meet the Enigma Machine
Adults

This Armistice Day, Courtesy of Government Communication HeadQuarters (GCHQ), the most famous of coding devices, the Enigma machine, will be visiting MathsWorld London. Join MathsWorld’s Dr James Grime alongside GCHQ staff in exploring the story of Alan Turing and the Enigma machine. This is a particularly pertinent year for a talk on Engima, as we celebrate the 80-year anniversary of the end of World War II. Alan Turing is best remembered as one of the leading code breakers of Bletchley Park during World War II. It was Turing's brilliant insights and mathematical mind that helped to break Enigma, the apparently unbreakable code used by the German military.
